HomeCare Management Corporation, an organization dedicated to serving people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD), is pleased to announce the addition of First Choice Community Services, Inc. into their agency, effective March 1, 2018. Margaret Mason, CEO of HomeCare, said, “We are excited to have First Choice join us as a part of the HomeCare family. This merger will allow us to continue to further our mission of serving individuals with I/DD needs as we expand into Mecklenburg and surrounding counties.” HomeCare has served individuals with I/DD needs throughout North Carolina since 1993. First Choice CEO, Lisa Smith, added, “Joining forces with HomeCare will help enhance our services to individuals and our benefits to staff, while continuing to allow us to fulfill our mission of serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities all throughout the greater Charlotte area”.
HomeCare, a part of the Community Based Care (CBC) family of providers, is one of North Carolina’s largest providers of support to individuals with I/DD needs. Based in Lenoir, HomeCare has ten offices across the state of North Carolina from the mountains to the coast. CBC acquired HomeCare in 2016. As part of CBC’s strategy to be the leading network of I/DD providers in North Carolina, they are continuing to grow a statewide presence with agencies who are market leaders in the delivery of community-based services to people with I/DD needs. CBC’s Executive VP, Gene Rodgers, said, “HomeCare and First Choice have over two decades of providing excellent care for individuals in the I/DD community. A merger like this will benefit all parties involved, especially the people we serve and their families.”
